Happy Thursday, CurationsLA! We have (almost) made it to the weekend, and it sounds like everyone is enjoying the new Tuesday and Thursday schedule. Thank you for that feedback. And thank you to everyone who continues to submit events and content on the new CurationsLA platform. Building in public with you all has been one of the best decisions I have made for this platform in the past three years. Everything is coming together. I am excited to share more soon about how our Events Platform will help brand owners and concert-goers find one another for the purpose of growing brands right here in Los Angeles. Stay tuned on that. Speaking of concerts, Coachella takes place this weekend. We also have the Masters odds and picks with local Southern California flare in today's Sports section, plus a fresh batch of Good Vibes across every section below. Thankful for each of you. Catch you in your inbox (or browser) on Tuesday! - Wyatt |

A new family-owned sandwich shop just opened in the heart of Downtown at 502 W 6th Street. Aunt Eleanor's is all about the bread, stacking homestyle classics like the Boss Tycoon BLT (triple-layered on 1942 sprouted sourdough), Italian subs, chicken bacon ranch wraps, and tuna melts. The shop is running a limited menu while it gets rolling, with sides, salads, and baked goods on the way. Look for Stanley the sandwich waving in the window. Open Monday through Friday, 11:30am to 3:30pm and Saturday 12:00 to 4:00pm. |

A new ghost kitchen near USC is doing Kolkata-style kathi rolls the right way. Kathi Roll & Co. wraps bold, fresh-made fillings like the Tandoori Firebird (spiced chicken) and Paneer Street Supreme inside crispy, flaky paratha, all cooked to order on the tawa. The menu also features masala fries and loaded fries. Founded and run solo by owner Arun, the concept is delivery-first and already picking up love from the neighborhood. Available on DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub from 6130 S Avalon Blvd. ORDER → | MENU → | INSTAGRAM → |

Echo Park's favorite neighborhood sports bar is back. The Holloway reopened on March 26 at 1320 Echo Park Avenue, right in time for Dodgers season and just steps from the stadium. The space has a fresh look with dark green walls, shuffleboard, darts, a covered back patio, and plenty of TVs for game day. The food menu brings back the OG burger from the original 2014 run alongside a foot-long hot dog, chicken milanese on focaccia, and a chamoy fruit cup. Drink-wise, expect Dodger margaritas, a proper Manhattan, and cold Guinness on tap. From the team behind Little Joy. |

A five-story courtyard apartment building is planned at 1000 North Alfred Street in Hollywood, just south of Santa Monica Boulevard. Developer Brennen Hakimian Holdings is behind the project, which features 67 residential units ranging from studios to six-bedroom layouts organized around a central open-air courtyard. Designed by Warren Techentin Architecture, the building wraps the site with layered horizontal bands, projecting balconies, and a contrasting upper-level cap. Subterranean parking will hold 43 vehicles. Seven units are set aside for very low-income and low-income households under density bonus incentives approved by the City Planning Commission in 2023. The project joins another planned residential development one block south at 845 North Alfred Street. |

Designed by AC Martin with Walton Construction Services as general contractor, the project includes a 43-car garage, community room, fitness center, and multiple outdoor decks. On-site services will be provided by Penny Lane Centers. Total estimated cost: $59 million, with the county loan leveraged against $56 million from additional sources. Voyager Technologies, the space defense and infrastructure company behind Starlab (one of the leading commercial space stations being developed with Airbus to replace the International Space Station), just secured a 140,000-square-foot facility in Long Beach. The new site will focus on AI and innovation, supporting the development of electronics, mission hardware, Low Earth Orbit space infrastructure, propulsion and defense systems. Voyager posted $166.4 million in net sales last year with a record $265.6 million backlog, and has acquired five companies in the past year alone. The move puts Voyager alongside peers like Anduril and True Anomaly in what Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson calls a rapidly growing aerospace R&D hub. Southern California's "Space Beach" corridor keeps attracting the next generation of space defense companies, and this one just went all in. |
